Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
you also need to add $$$ for your working space, utilities including wifi and transportation if you need to get materials locally, also work transport into shipping costs (which you always charge the customer including packing materials and time packing.
Remember, if you sell your work for less/or give it for free you are actually PAYING SOMEONE to take your work.
You can’t deserve a person’s love. You’ll drive yourself crazy thinking like that. They either love you, or they don’t. That doesn’t mean you weren’t good enough for them to love you, because love isn’t something you earn by being good enough. It isn’t something that can be quantified or doled out. Don’t blame yourself for not being loved how you need to, just teach yourself how to look for love where love lives.
This isn’t just about romantic love, or even skewed towards romantic love, although it does apply there too. One of the hardest things I’ve ever had to accept is that my mother simply wasn’t someone who was capable of loving me, and there is no version of me that I could have ever been that would have earned that love. But with acceptance came healing. I was able to love myself more instead of resenting myself for not being more than any one person could be.
Are you listening? Even love for yourself isn’t earned. It is a kindness you give yourself.
it wasn’t “some reason”, it was 2D animators being unionized and 3D not being unionized. and the simple truth that capitalism kills art.
I remember when 2D faded out, the reason studios kept giving was “it’s because 2D is a lot more expensive to produce”. I was a child back then so I didn’t think too much about it, assuming it was about the process itself, but as I grew up and learned more about art as an artist, and gained friends who were professional 3D artists themselves, I started to question it. Because 3D is very different from 2D, but it’s definitely not easier or faster to make. Also, both European and Asian studios kept producing 2D animated movies
The answer was unions. The answer wasn’t “this kind of art is cheaper because it’s easier to make”, it was “this kind of art is cheaper because these artists can’t force us to pay them correctly”
I don’t think I could be trusted with shapeshifting powers bc I would just turn into a bear and attack things with my claws at any minor inconvenience. it would be my go-to solution for everything
When you become 20 something, you have to forgive yourself or you will never grow up. You have to forgive yourself for everything and learn from it.
you have to keep fighting for life everyday is so hard and easy and it doesn’t stop ever. It’s rewarding and punishing. Everyday is a series of truths and hypocrisies and it’s so so so gay and so awesome.
I found my answer at 25 and I will find it again when I’m 35,45 so on and so forth.its a never ending question
